Scan Note Write 2.2

The app treats text from a book as a shareable message and provides marking and writing tools to streamline learning and work, reducing the need for pen and paper.

Note: Optical Character Recognition (OCR) remains a complex task, but the developers are steadily improving the technology. Please understand that special cases, unusual fonts, different languages, and low-light conditions will be addressed progressively in upcoming updates. If you encounter unsatisfactory results, you are encouraged to send a targeted photo and a brief explanation of your topic via email at [email protected].

How to use

1. Open a new or existing note from your local storage
2. Take a photo via camera or library
3. Extract the text
4. Mark the information from the extracted text you want to retain (yellow marks)
5. When a headword is complete, tap the button to move it to your personal note (yellow marks become grey)
6. In your personal note, you will find the gathered information in a headword format like "- ..."
7. These headwords can be edited, saved, and shared

Important: Pictures are saved only temporarily. The extracted text and the note sheet can be saved locally.

Setup OCR language

The app detects your preferred operating system language and scans accordingly. To scan in a different language, change your device's system language in the settings.

Best results

• Languages supported before iOS 14: English, French, German
• Newly supported languages since iOS 14: Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian
• Latin alphabet is generally supported, with the best results for the languages listed above
• Standard fonts
• Horizontal text orientation
• Consistent lighting
• Dark text on a light background
• Best results on common book pages
